
Claudio Daneff vs. Agustín Quintana - Mario Margossian
Argentinian boxing presents one of its most exciting and competitive fights, in an action packed night, including big names, brought by Argentina Boxing Promotions on TyC Sports. Two time Latino champion and Argentine rising prospect Claudio “Chaíto” Daneff, will face also rising prospect Agustín “Sugar” Quintana, trying to defend for the first time his World Boxing Council (WBC) Latino lightweight title, at the main event of an exciting boxing night on Friday, June 25th, at the Microestadio Municipal, in Hurlingham, Buenos Aires, Argentina, promoted by Argentina Boxing Promotions, of Mario Margossian, which will be televised live on TyC Sports, to Argentina, the United States and the whole continent, at 9 p.m. Argentina, 8 p.m. USA (ET).
In the co main event of the evening, Argentinian, South American and WBC Latino cruiserweight champion, two-time olympian and unbeaten prospect Yamil Peralta, will face Marcos Karalitzky, in a rematch bout in cruiserweight division, scheduled to eight rounds.
In the best matchup of the division and one the best possible fights in the country, Daneff (11-1-1, 7 KOs), 25 years old, from Cañuelas, Buenos Aires, #1 of the Argentinian lightweight ranking, and also WBC Latino super lightweight monarch, will look to shine again and defend the belt he conquered on June 28th, 2019, when he dominated Miguel Antín by a wide unanimous decision. Now, he will face Quintana (13-1-1, 9 KOs), 24, from San Francisco Solano, Buenos Aires, #3 of the Argentinian lightweight ranking, and former World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedebol lightweight champion. The winner will rise as the best 135 pounder of the country and with a great future ahead of him.
Both fighters made the weight on the scales, leaving everything ready for their bout. Daneff weighed 134 lbs., and Quintana weighed 134.7 lbs.
After defeating almost every opponent only losing in a close decision to Nicolás Andino, Daneff stopped five rivals in a row including Pablo Monzón and Diego Tejerina, and on June 28th, 2019, he dominated Miguel Antín by a wide unanimous decision and conquered his WBC Latino lightweight title, and after crushing Leonardo Ortega, he comes after November 28th when he went to a new division and dominated the tall Agustín Gerbaldo Kucharski by unanimous decision to obtain the WBC Latino super lightweight belt.
But Quintana has a great power as well. After defeating every opponent including Braian Sánchez, he lost a split decision against Jorge Bermúdez. He recovered with six victories in a row, against names such as Fernando Cancino and Pablo Monzón, before crushing Gabriel Puñalef Calfín in two rounds for the WBA Fedebol crow. On his last fight, on December 18th, he stopped Cristian Villarreal in the fifth, and is ready for his most important fight.
PERALTA-KARALITZKY, THE REMATCH
In the co main event of the evening, Argentinian, South American and WBC Latino cruiserweight champion, two-time olympian and unbeaten prospect Yamil Peralta (9-0, 4 KOs), will face Marcos Karalitzky (7-4-2, 2 KOs), in a rematch in cruiserweight division, scheduled to eight rounds, after Peralta won twelve-round unanimous decision on October 30th to defend his South American belt.
Peralta weighed 198.9 lbs., and Karalitzky weighed 196.6 lbs.
Peralta, 29, from Del Viso, Buenos Aires, Argentinian representative in London 2012 -where he reached quarter finals- and Rio de Janeiro 2016, #15 of the WBC cruiserweight ranking, is the best of his division in the country and the whole region. He dethroned Marcos Aumada by unanimous decision to conquer his WBC Latino belt that he defended in the rematch over Aumada, and after destroying Darío Balmaceda of the South American crown, he defended it dominating Marcos Karalitzky and Gustavo Schmitt, and on March 12th he annihilated Balmaceda in the sixth round to dethrone him of the Argentinian belt. Now, he will face Karalitzky, 32, from Termperley, Buenos Aires, who has fought in Canada and after their first clash wants his revenge.
FONSECA-ROJAS, PERALTA-ANDRADE AND PÉREZ-DANEFF
Beyond the main fight, a heated card has been prepared to complete the night. In welterweight division, undefeated Leandro “Huracán” Fonseca (6-0-1, 2 KOs), from Buenos Aries, will face Facundo Rojas (4-4-1), from Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, in a bout scheduled to six rounds.
Fonseca weighed 145.6 lbs., and Rojas weighed 145.3 lbs.
In welterweight division, Yoel “El Chacal” Peralta (7-1, 1 KOs), from Del Viso, Buenos Aires, takes on Denis Andrade (5-5, 2 KO), from Santa Cruz, in a bout scheduled to six rounds.
Peralta weighed 145.7 lbs., and Andrade weighed 146.8 lbs.
Finally, in super featherweight division, Antonio Pérez (7-1, 2 KOs), from Salta, faces Jesús “Chechu” Daneff (8-5-2, 3 KOs), from Cañuelas, Buenos Aires, in a bout scheduled to six rounds.
Pérez weighed 129.8 lbs., and Daneff weighed 129 lbs.
