Daneff-Gerbaldo, Andino-Tejada on weight for great show

Argentinian Boxing continues with an action packed night filled with promising prospects brought by Argentina Boxing Promotions on TyC Sports. World Boxing Council (WBC) Latino lightweight champion, Argentinian rising prospect Claudio “Chaíto” Daneff, will face tall countryman Agustín Gerbaldo Kucharski, for the vacant WBC Latino super lightweight title, at the main event of an exciting boxing night on Saturday, November 28th, at the Club Atlético, Social y Deportivo Camioneros, in Luis Guillón, Buenos Aires, Argentina, promoted by Argentina Boxing Promotions, of Mario Margossian, which will be televised live on TyC Sports, to Argentina, the United States and the whole continent, 11:30 p.m. Argentina, 9:30 p.m. USA (ET).

In the co main event of the evening, highly rated Argentinian prospect Nicolás “El Elegante” Andino will face undefeated Andrés “Canelito” Tejada, in a bout in welterweight division, scheduled to eight rounds.

This will be the third event of the awaited return of boxing on Argentinian soil since the irruption of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, and will be in charge of the same company that promoted the first two shows of the return, on October 30th and November 13th, at the same venue, as well as the last boxing show in the country pre pandemic, on March 13th in Buenos Aires. After months of hard and silent work the sport has its long-expected resumption, in another show behind closed doors for the public, with the strictest security controls following the health protocols issued by national and municipal health authorities, as well as the Argentinian Boxing Federation.

On Friday afternoon, all of the participants were tested for the Coronavirus COVID-19, in a strict control that took place at the Argentinian Boxing Federation, and all of the results turned out negative, leaving everyone ready to fight. After that, it was time for the weigh in ceremony.

In what is expected to be an action packed fight, Daneff (10-1-1, 7 KOs), 24 years old, from Cañuelas, Buenos Aires, #3 of the Argentinean lightweight ranking, will look to shine again. After defeating almost every opponent only losing in a close decision to Nicolás Andino, he stopped five rivals in a row including Brian Laguna -twice-, Pablo Monzón and Diego Tejerina, on June 28th, 2019, he dominated Miguel Antín by a wide unanimous decision and conquered his WBC Latino lightweight title, and comes after destroying Leonardo Ortega in less than one round on January 11th in Mar del Plata. Now he will face Gerbaldo Kucharski (6-1-1-1 nc, 1 KO), 23, from Córdoba, #10 of the Argentinean super lightweight ranking, who with an amazing height of 6′ 1″ has defeated Leonardo Ortega and Nicolás Herrera, only losing as a visitor to Sergio Rosalez, and after a draw with top rated prospect Hugo Roldán comes from last January 18th defeating Michel Cabral by unanimous decision in Pinamar, Buenos Aires.

Both fighters made the weight on the scales, leaving everything ready for their bout. Daneff weighed 138.4 lbs., and Gerbaldo Kucharski weighed 138.2 lbs.

ANDINO-TEJADA, PLUS DANEFF-COMBI AND MORE

In the co main event, highly rated Argentinian prospect Nicolás “El Elegante” Andino (13-1, 2 KOs) will face undefeated Andrés “Canelito” Tejada (8-0-2, 2 KOs), in a bout in welterweight division, scheduled to eight rounds.

Both Andino and Tejada weighed 146.4 lbs.

Andino, 25 years old, from Florida, Buenos Aires, # 6 of the Argentinean junior welterweight ranking, who after defeating every single opponent such us Claudio Daneff, Antonio Santillán, Diego Tejerina, Jonathan Arena, Sebastián Chaves, Marcelo Mesa and Julio Ruiz, comes after his only loss against Daniel Córdoba for the Argentinian belt, on February 21st in Buenos Aires. Now he will take on Tejada, 26, from Puerto Madryn, Chubut, but based in Angaco, San Juan, who after passing through every test, comes after stopping Nelson Castel in the third round on March 15th, 2019, in San Juan.

Beyond the main fights, a heated card has been prepared to complete the night. In lightweight division, Jesús “Chechu” Daneff (8-3-2, 3 KOs), from Cañuelas, Buenos Aires, will face Daniel “El Problema” Combi (6-3, 1 KO), from La Matanza, Buenos Aires, in a bout scheduled to six rounds.

Daneff weighed 134.3 lbs., and Combi weighed 134.4 lbs.

Finally, in welterweight division, undefeated Dorian “El Atrevido” Maidana (5-0, 3 KOs), from Villa Albertina, Buenos Aires, takes on Sebastián Chaves (4-1, 1 KO), from San Miguel, Buenos Aires, in a bout scheduled to six rounds.

Both Maidana and Chaves weighed 141.5 lbs.
