
Lucas Bastida vs. José Villalobos - Mario Margossian
Argentinian boxing continues with an action packed night, including explosive fights, important champions and promising prospects brought by Argentina Boxing Promotions on TyC Sports. South American middleweight champion, Argentinian rising prospect Lucas “El Tornado” Bastida, will face experienced José “Tsunami” Villalobos, trying to defend for the third time his crown, at the main event of an exciting boxing night on Friday, April 30th, at the Polideportivo Libertad, in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina, promoted by Argentina Boxing Promotions, of Mario Margossian, which will be televised live on TyC Sports, to Argentina, the United States and the whole continent, at 9 p.m. Argentina, 8 p.m. USA (ET).
The event will also feature important Argentinian names such as awarded world title champion Débora “La Gurisa” Dionicius and two-time Latino champion Claudio “Chaíto” Daneff.
In what is expected to be an action-packed fight, Bastida (16-1, 9 KOs), 24 years old, from Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, #1 of the Argentinean middleweight ranking, will look to shine again. After defeating every opponent in his country -only losing after a cut- including Sergio Paysse, Cristian Zárate, Dominican Félix Vargas, and Ezequiel Romero, he will try to defend for the third time the title he conquered after annihilating Gonzalo Chaparro in less than one round on January 11th, 2020, in Mar del Plata, and after dominating Marcelo Bzowski, defended devastating Sergio López in one round, and Germán Peralta in three, on January 16th, in Hurlingham, Buenos Aires. Now he will face Villalobos (13-6-2, 8 KOs), 27, from Córdoba, # 6 of the Argentinean junior middleweight ranking, who defeated Sebastián Luján among others, fought abroad to big names such as Polish Patryk Szymanski and Kamil Szeremeta, Russian Khuseyn Baysangurov, and Kazak Sadriddin Akhmedov. On his last appearance, on November 27th, he stopped Juan Figueroa in four rounds and he’s ready to take the belt.
DANEFF-ARENA, THE CO MAIN EVENT
In the co main event of the evening, two-time Latino champion Claudio “Chaíto” Daneff (11-1-1, 7 KOs) will face Joel “El Forastero” Arena (10-9-1, 3 KOs), in a bout in lightweight division, scheduled to six rounds.
Daneff, 24, from Cañuelas, Buenos Aires, World Boxing Council (WBC) Latino lightweight and super lightweight champion, is considered one of Argentina’s most talented prospects. #2 of the Argentinean lightweight ranking, he has defeated Diego Tejerina, Miguel Antín -for the WBC Latino lightweight belt-, and comes after November 28th when he dominated Agustín Gerbaldo Kucharski to secure his second crown. Now, he will face Arena, from San Rafael, Mendoza, who has battled with opponents like Fabricio Bea, Nicolás Andino, José Acevedo, Ramón Mascarena, Patricio Carrión and Emiliano Domínguez, and yearns the huge upset.
DIONICIUS-YANCAQUEO AND MORE
Beyond the main fights, a heated card has been prepared to complete the night. Awarded and former world title champion Débora “La Gurisa” Dionicius (30-2, 6 KOs) will face Gloria “La India” Yancaqueo (7-11-3, 2 KOs), in a bout in bantamweight division, scheduled to six rounds.
Dionicius, 33, from Villaguay, Entre Ríos, has achieved the record of thirteen defenses of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) super flyweight title. After beating the best in the world, both in Argentina and Europe, she moved up in weight and comes after dominating Aixa Adema to obtain her Argentinian bantamweight belt on March 13th, 2020. Now, she takes on Yancaqueo, 33, from Santa Rosa, La Pampa, former South American featherweight challenger, who will go for her most outstanding victory.
In another attraction of the evening, in a rematch junior flyweight division, current Argentinian junior flyweight champion and former world title challenger, Ayelén “Piru” Granadino (5-1-2), from Claypole, Buenos Aires, takes on María Sol Baumstarh (2-4-1, 1 KO), from Brandsen, Buenos Aires, in a bout scheduled to six rounds, after their four rounds majority decision draw on April 20th, 2019.
Finally, in super featherweight division, debutant Mariano Bertola, from Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, faces Esteban Castillo, from Santa Rosa, La Pampa, in a bout scheduled to four rounds.
