Rising star and former Argentinean flyweight champion, unbeaten prospect Anahí “La Indiecita” López, will face tough Débora “Polvorita” Gómez, for the vacants Argentinean and South American flyweight titles, in a highly expected rematch, at the main event of an exciting boxing night this Friday night at the Asociación de Fomento Social y Deportiva Mayo, in Luis Guillón, Buenos Aires, Argentina, promoted by Argentina Boxing Promotions, of Mario Margossian, which will be televised live on TyC Sports at 10 pm., for Argentina and the whole American continent.
The other main event programmed between rising prospect Facundo “Topo” Arce (9-2-1, 3 KOs) against unbeaten prospect Federico “Chori” Coronel (9-0-1, 5 KOs), in a matchup scheduled to ten rounds in junior lightweight division, had to be cancelled because Coronel had to be hospitalized after having fainted repeatedly on his way to the weigh in ceremony, and ended with a diagnosis of “psychophysical asthenia, severe dehydration, low blood pressure, vertigo and hemodynamic instability,” according to the first medical reports. After being compensated and receiving serum, he is now stabilized but logically unable to compete.
But the show will go on, and the ladies will have to settle unfinished bussiness. On July 23rd, 2016, when their careers were beginning, López defeated Gómez by a split decision. Now, López (13-0-1, 1 KO), 24 years old, from Junín, Buenos Aires, current # 3 of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight world ranking and # 1 of the national flyweight lists, who comes after beating Virginia Cárcamo by unanimous decision, will to recover her national crown and add the South American one. But Gómez (5-3-1), 24, from José León Suárez, Buenos Aires, # 4 of the Argentinean flyweight ranking, will try to get her best victory and her first belts.
On Thursday afternoon, both fighters made the weight on the scales, leaving everything ready for their bout. López weighed 110 lbs., and Gómez weighed 111.6 lbs.
In the co main event, in welterweight division, Emmanuel “GES” Schramm (2-0, 1 KO), from Morón, Buenos Aires, takes on Víctor Jaimes (1-3), form Nogoyá, Entre Ríos, in a matchup scheduled to six rounds.
Schramm weighed 146.2 lbs., and Jaimes 147 lbs.
Also, in super flyweight division, debutant Nicolás “Demonio” Muguruza, from Bragado, Buenos Aires, takes on Paraguayan Lucas “Dibu” Rojas (1-1), from Asunción, in a bout scheduled to four rounds.
Muguruza weighed 112.2 lbs., and Rojas 114.3 lbs.
In junior lightweight division, debutant Alexis “Picante” Broggi, from Bragado, Buenos Aires, faces Agustín “La Cobrita” Peralta (0-1), from San Miguel de Tucumán, in a bout scheduled to four rounds.
Broggi weighed 129.5 lbs., and Peralta 128.9 lbs.
Finally, in welterweight division, debutant Ricardo “El Lobby” Cabaña, from Buenos Aires, takes on debutant Kevin Lagos, from Telén, La Pampa, in a bout scheduled to four rounds.
Both weighed 144.6 lbs.
